Life beneath the vineyard
A fascinating conference organized by the Confraternita della Vite e del Vino (Brotherhood of Vine and Wine) in the splendid Burovich Auditorium in Sesto al Reghena focused on the microbiological life of soil. A complex and fascinating world that lives in contact with the roots of the vine and represents the very basis of the quality of our grapes, influencing the health of the plant, the balance of the soil and, ultimately, the character of the wines.
The meeting offered an important opportunity for discussion between scholars, technicians, and producers, emphasizing how knowledge of the soil is one of the most important keys to regenerative viticulture today.
During the event, awards were given to the best degree theses in the wine sector, demonstrating the value of research and training for young people. Among the protagonists was the President of the Ramuscello Winery, Gianluca Trevisan, who presented an award for a brilliant thesis dedicated to Pinot Grigio, a variety that symbolizes our territory and the Friulian production tradition.
