Small votive places

18/11/2025

Walking through the countryside and vineyards of our region, you often come across small votive places, sometimes hidden along dirt roads or at the edge of rows of vines, often far from inhabited areas.

These are simple but significant examples of popular devotion, almost always created as a sign of gratitude for a blessing received or for protection invoked.

In the past, farmers were particularly attentive to these gestures, entrusting to faith the hardships of working in the fields, the uncertainties of the climate, and the health of their families and crops.

Today, these small symbols, often carefully restored, remain a precious part of our rural landscape. They tell everyday and ancient stories, reminding us of the deep connection between man, the earth, and his spirituality.
