Cantina di Ramuscello: support for the Community of Sant’Egidio
Cantina di Ramuscello has donated €5,000 to the Community of Sant’Egidio to support the humanitarian corridors project. The sum was delivered in Rome by president Gianluca Trevisan and director Rodolfo Rizzi, in the presence of the CEO of the Community, Stefano Carmenati, the head of humanitarian corridors, Cecilia Pani and Rinaldo Piazzoni.
The donation originated from the sale of 500 bottles from the “Vino Terre” project, an initiative that combines wine, culture, and solidarity. The bottles of Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso DOC Friuli are aged for 12 months in the soil of the vineyard where they are produced, then packaged with the collaboration of students and teachers from the “Galvani” Art High School in Cordenons, and finally sold to support concrete projects.
The Community of Sant’Egidio, based in the former convent of Trastevere in Rome, is active in over 70 countries. For more than 50 years, it has been engaged in peacebuilding, hospitality, and social inclusion, offering assistance to the most vulnerable. Through the humanitarian corridors, over 10,000 refugees have been legally welcomed into Italy, following safe and monitored integration paths.
The meeting was also attended by Sesto al Reghena municipal councillor Riccardo Pasqualis, who conveyed greetings from the local Administration and donated a publication about the ancient Benedictine Abbey of Sesto to the Community.
