The “ritual” of pruning
With the arrival of the first cold weather, pruning work begins in the vineyards of the Ramuscello Winery. This is the time when the members return to the rows to guide the growth of the vine, a climbing plant that must be contained every year because grapes only grow on new shoots. For many members, this is not just a technical task, but a real ritual: they observe the plant, assess its vigor, and decide how to set up production for the new year.
Without pruning, the vine would produce too many shoots and too few quality grapes, while proper pruning restores balance, guides productivity, and prepares for the next season. It is a meticulous task, handed down from generation to generation, in which every gesture is measured to see the fruits in the harvest to come.
So, even if the vineyard is bare and silent in winter, the agricultural year begins right here, with the shears of our members and a ritual that is repeated, with experience and dedication, year after year.
